A self-proclaimed Jesus-Girl, Dr. Anissa Reilly is a real-life survivor having experienced a myriad of traumatic events while living and working in the Bronx, NY. In spite of suffering from Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) from issues like rape, molestation, a victim of attempted murder, and domestic violence, Dr. Reilly is a success story as the loving wife of Gordon Reilly Jr, mother to 4 wonderful children and for almost three decades, has held the position of school educator, leader and entrepreneur.
While ministering at a conference, one of the speakers told Dr. Reilly that she was "Trusted with Trouble!" Her words resonated with Dr. Reilly because of all the trauma she endured in my life. She was not dead, addicted to drugs or alcohol, insane, or looked like "40-miles of bad road." Dr. Reilly realized that God trusted her with these trials because He knew that she would not be ashamed to share them with someone else for their freedom. It is her hope that when people see or hear about her scars and how God has blessed and restored her, new life will be breathed into their spirits and souls. It is possible to experience triumph in trauma and peace in the midst of your storm. Dr. Reilly can show you how.
Dr. Reilly's life-inspired talk show, The Ask Dr. Reilly Show, focuses on topics like abuse, domestic violence, grief, sexual exploitation, and other issues that adversely impact our community. She was Trusted with Trouble and uses her life experiences to help others through mentoring, coaching, and mastermind workshops. She is an author, certified John Maxwell Leadership coach, DISC trainer for youth and adults, and conference speaker, as well as a trained Emotional Intelligence (EQ-i 2.0 and EQ360) coach. She combines her John Maxwell Leadership and EQ-i 2.0/360 certification with her love of brain science to help individuals experience TRIUMPH-N-TRAUMA™.
Dr. Reilly has embraced the “Wounded Healer” archetype as described by psychologist Carl Jung which she incorporated into her soon to be released book, “The Wounded Healer: Turning Life’s Messes into Messages of Hope-From Violence to Victory” which is bound to be a best seller.
Dr. Reilly obtained her undergraduate degree from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, her master's degree from Bank Street College of Education, and her doctorate from The Sage Colleges of Albany.
“My journey is not my own. My trials turned triumph are meant to be shared. If only one soul is impacted, then it was all worth it. God trusted me with trouble to help those who have experienced trauma. I am here to let you know there is Triumph -N- Trauma. That is my calling. That is my purpose. I am honored and humbled.”
